About Us – Welcome to Daxer & Marschall
Since its founding in 1985, the Daxer & Marschall Gallery has earned an international reputation for its consistently high standards of expertise and quality. with the support of Mr. and Mrs. Daxer-Piech, Marcus Marschall founded the company Daxer & Marschall, of which he has been the sole partner since 1993.
The gallery specializes in European painting, oil sketches, drawings, and sculptures from the 16th to the 20th centuries, with a focus on art from the 19th and early 20th centuries. Our focus encompasses the Romantic movements of the early 19th century and the Symbolist movements of the second half of the century, as well as Classical Modernism in Germany, France, and other European countries. Painting is our passion.
We pay particular attention to those artists who set standards for their time and, for that very reason, continue to fascinate us today. What distinguishes them from their contemporaries? These are intriguing questions.
Our clients expect us to have carefully examined every artwork in our inventory for authenticity, condition, and provenance. View a selection of our catalogs here.
We act not only as buyers and sellers, but often also as intermediariesfor works of art. Thanks to our favorable terms, expertise, and global network, many clients entrust us with the consignment sale of their artworks — on terms that are far more advantageous than those offered by auction houses.
We also offer support in many aspects of art collecting. Benefit from 40 years of experience in the international art market. Are you looking to buy at an auction? Let us advise you. Our advice is also sought for questions regarding restoration, framing, and insurance.
Visitors are always welcome. A brief advance notice is all that is needed. Our spacious gallery rooms on the second floor of Barer Straße 44 offer you the opportunity to view artworks in a discreet, pleasant setting. The art gallery is open by appointment.
